Mohammad Ghaffari

Shahab Ahmadi
The works of the designers
of the world directly refer to their artistic views and philosophy, which can
be seen in their works. In the world of designers, many architects have set
foot in other areas of design, and in their works, you can see this difference,
which are indicators most of the time. Architecture is an interdisciplinary
profession that has many similarities with other professions. In this regard,
architects enter other fields of design. In this section, we introduce two
young architects who, in addition to architecture, are active in other areas of
design. Mohammad Ghafari and Shahab Ahmadi, who both have works in different
fields of design, from design to construction, have collaborated with each other
to produce a joint collection inspired by nature. In this collection, an
attempt has been made to give a new definition, considering the context and
function of the products that existed in the past, with a conceptual and
functional view. In the first step, with the introduction of Shahab Ahmadi
Memar, conceptual designer and researcher, the founder of Hasht Architecture
Office, whose activities began with his interest and inclination towards
graphic design since childhood and the knowledge of aesthetics on a small scale
due to the close connection between architecture and graphics to the field of
architecture. He became interested and continued his academic studies in this
field. After the establishment of Hasht Architecture Office in 2013 along with
Iman Hedayati, he started his professional activity while continuing to
research and design and build various architectural projects. He always made
the continuation of the creative flow of Iran's past architecture and its
evolution and paying attention to deep human concepts in the experience of
human living space the top of his work
With his interest in architecture and other design trends in interior design, industrial design, and graphic design, he designed creative works by knowing the properties of materials, which is the result of his design experience in various fields of architecture. Now, in a joint action with Mohammad Ghafari, an architect and designer, he created a collection called Concept with a conceptual look and inspiration from nature. Also, Mohammad Ghafari is an architect, conceptual designer and researcher, the founder of Kalk Design Studio, who was very interested in black pen drawing and drawing of nature and city buildings as a child, which made him continue his studies until the master's level in the field of architectural engineering. It started in Russia with the title of Iranian Arts Night and so far has had more than 30 domestic and foreign exhibitions, including London, Dubai, Armenia, Russia, Sharjah, UAE. He has 7 judging experiences in the field of design, after teaching and being a member of the National Fashion Foundation of Iran, and more than 9 teaching courses in the interior architecture courses of the academic center of Tehran University from 2013 to now. He considers the experience of winning numerous domestic and international awards and winning the ADESIGN award to be one of his best work periods, and he has works in other artistic trends such as architecture, industrial design, graphics, and fashion. Membership in the International Committee of World Museums, UNESCO's ICOM, and the artistic advisor of the Supreme Council of Stamps and the Museum of Communications, has led to the experience of art direction (curation) of more than 6 art exhibitions in prestigious museums. Cooperation with the media as a researcher and editorial secretary of Villa magazine, cooperation with designer and architect and modern fashion magazines is one of his interest in research. He considers the role of an architect as his duty in society, whether in designing and building architectural projects or in research. Mohammad Ghafari has been a professional curator of architecture and Apar has exhibited Iran's prominent architects and artists.
Dew is the name of a collection of pots inspired by water drops and plants in nature. It was created in the spring of 2021 by the sight of nature after a rain. The homogeneous and different shapes of the raindrops have given rise to different arrangements. The choice of glass as a material that has the ability to expand creates a sense of depth and sensory interaction for the audience through the different arrangements, and a sense of nostalgia for raindrops in nature. By studying and researching the morphology of the existing patterns, we tried to create a shape and a right to choose with an almost golden section and a width of 40 meters and a height of 20 centimeters in five sizes. The dimensional design to create the right thickness for statics and how to place the pots in relation to each other in full and empty pots was one of our challenges. The pots can also be used for dried flowers without water, such as cotton flowers, and for growing houseplants in water and without soil.
Kariz is a vase with the idea of a desert, which is more than 2500 years old in Iran. An aqueduct or canal is an underground waterway or channel dug to obtain water for agriculture. The use of karez and a common tank for pots is a solution for common irrigation. Kariz remind us of traditional life in the present and create a sense of nostalgia. The size and scale of the Karez are 55 cm in length, 30 cm in width and 30 cm in height. The Kariz was designed in 2021 in Tehran, where he studied and researched the nature and environment of Iran. One of the challenges was the choice of material and construction in relation to the final dimensions and weight of the Kariz. has taken. The desire for life in the heart of the desert is a precious gem that shines like a mirage, the desire for existence is not in the heart. The design of the desert dream jewelry collection was developed in terms of body ergonomics and with a sensory design approach. So you can discover the hidden and visible angles of the effect. A series of different perspectives for the audience and the user, as if in search of the lost azure.
Viper is a pen with a semantic and practical look inspired by nature. The hidden and obvious features of the snake character and its dynamics in movement and its adaptation to the liquid were chosen as an option for the design of a pen. In this pen, pen and brush are used at the same time. There is a brush on one side and a brush on the other side that are interchangeable with a pen, and you can use different brush heads with one body. Brush sizes range from very small numbers of 0.10 mm or so-called ten zeros to sizes over 20 mm. Viper was designed in Tehran in 2021, has a diameter of 1 cm and a length of 22 cm, and was made of fiberglass to create a suitable ability and a sense of fluidity. By studying and researching the need for pen function while painting and the need to use the pen constantly, this combination will increase its function.
Sand dunes is the name of an object that has a reclining function in addition to a candlestick. We have not only designed a candle and a vessel for it, but also tried to use its concept of time and bring it into the body, the subject according to the concept of light and shadow to benefit from its properties. Also, the current fluidity in the natural body of the topography of the sand dunes of the desert, creates a suitable empty space for the placement and complete burning of candles and incense. In addition to illuminating the surrounding spaces, one of the features is the scenting of the room, achieved through the use of a second container to create a different feeling. The material is in harmony with the main concept of ceramics. One of our challenges was the balance between the static and the final size, which was achieved in a round shape with a length and width of 35 cm and a height of 9 cm. The main idea was born after a trip to the desert in 2021 and returning to Tehran. A sense of nostalgia for the light and shade of the dunes and the possibility for the audience to use candles or incense to enhance user interaction was created.
